The Arkhangelskoye State Museum & Estate is located in the Krasnogorsky district of the province of Moscow, 20 km west of the capital. The complex is an outstanding example of Russian manor-house architecture. Arkhangelskoye is a wonderful monument to late-18th/early 19th-century Russian culture and is celebrated not only for the magnificent beauty of its gardens and parkland but also for its splendid collection of paintings, drawings, sculptures and applied art.
